10k Community Walk and Run

 | Published on Friday, October 22, 2010
One of the premier 10K runs held in New York City, Restoration hosted its 29th Annual 10K Run and Fun Walk on Sunday, October 10. People of all ages (13 -80) and fitness levels were encouraged to attend the event which started at Restoration Plaza. New to this year’s race was a Kiddie Run for ages 2- 8. A post race party with refreshments and music followed the race. With a theme of “Fostering a Healthy Community”, This year’s race attracted an unprecedented 450 participants as well as some 3,000 spectators along the race route.

Brothers from Alpha Upsilon took part in the 10K race and finished in a little less than an hour (not bad). The weather was perfect for this outdoor activity as the AU brothers crossed the finish line winded but unbowed!  Participants included Kyle Plant, Malik Kirkland, Dean Hostler, James Bell and Khalek Kirkland. They were met at the finish line by their loved ones as well as a few chapter brothers who provided much need fluids along the route. Alpha Upsilon is looking to make this an annual chapter event.  Click Here For Photos of the Event
