Health Department Joins the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office, Religious Leaders, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc, Community Partners and Health Care Providers to Kick Off
2nd Annual Good Health Brooklyn!
The Health Department was joined by the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office, Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc, religious leaders, the community and health care partners on the steps of Atlantic Center Mall on Saturday, October 2 to kick off its second annual Good Health Brooklyn! Campaign. Good Health Brooklyn! is a community-wide effort to raise awareness of preventable health conditions in Brooklyn such as high blood pressure, nearly 30% of Brooklyn adults have been diagnosed with the condition. Health screenings and educational sermons will be delivered throughout the week of October 3rd at participating faith-based institutions. The campaign will close with the announcement of “Get Moving Brooklyn Day” in Prospect Park on Saturday, October 16. Bike rides and lessons, walks, runs and Shape Up aerobic classes will take place throughout the park from 9 am to 3 pm. Click Here for Photos
