Alpha Upsilon and Zeta Psi Chapters Celebrate Achievement Week

 | Published on Saturday, October 29, 2011

Brooklyn, New York, October 29, 2011 - The men of Alpha Upsilon and Zeta Psi chapters respectfully engaged in a method of synergy this year as they collaborated to present this year’s achievement week. This particular mandated program normally held in the month of November to observe and honor diligent work and effort put forth by Omega men and or notable individuals of the community; working towards a better tomorrow one endeavor, one impacted soul and one lasting memory at a time was moved to the latter portion of October. Congressman Towns (Ranking Member, Subcommittee on Government Organization, Efficiency and Financial Management) was in attendance to present our citizen of the year awardee Bro. Robert Cornegy, Jr with a Congressional citation. Despite the schedule change the program much like previous years was a resounding success, despite the inclement weather experienced on that day. The aforementioned variable although not expected thus not accounted for was embraced by all those in attendance and the program went on as planned.

This year’s recipients were graciously bestowed with awards for their aforementioned efforts to their communities. Let us rejoice in their accomplishments and thank them for their unwavering dedication. Moreover, this event or shall I say celebration should not be neatly tucked away into the annals of Omega Psi Phi history with other noteworthy ventures and successes. Instead let us collectively look at these men that have become change agents and assist them in leaving indelible imprints in the hearts and minds of those in which we encounter, one good deed at a time and one day at a time.
